Lara Jensen is a freelance photographer and a writer who has a love of the outback that stems from her childhood on a Murchison sheep station in rural WA. Lara was employed as a rural journalist for the West Australian and Farm Weekly newspapers before going solo and launching her freelance career. She now writes freelance for publications including the RM Williams OUTBACK Magazine and will go anywhere to cover an event. Having lived and worked on remote pastoral stations in the Pilbara, Gascoyne and Murchison Lara has an informed understanding of the issues confronting rural people and a natural affinity for those that call the outback home. Lara believes there is nothing more powerful than the partnership of words and images. After a career in rural journalism spanning four years, Dusty Tracks Photography evolved naturally to combine Lara’s two favourite passions – photography and writing. With a free-spirit and great sense of humour Lara loves to step back and let people come to life in their own space. Whether it’s hitching a lift in a helicopter to get a bird’s - eye view of a muster or shooting portraits in the middle of nowhere, Lara puts her heart and soul into every assignment. Her style is creative and unobtrusive and she has a natural perception and warmth that shows in her photographs. Convinced life is a daring adventure, Lara loves nothing more than dusting off her swag and hitting the open road in search of great stories and photographs.
